The Brooklyn Project is a series of projects in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Manhattan.
The project is the brainchild of two former New York City Council members and the son of Brooklyn Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who have been running it since 2011.
According to the project’s website, the Brooklyn project is “a community development initiative that creates and enhances local jobs and economic opportunities in the boroughs poorest neighborhoods.”
The Brooklyn Project was founded in 2010 and it has a goal of transforming the entire borough of Manhattan by 2035.
One of the projects is the creation of a new neighborhood called the “Brooklyn Quarter” which will include “residential development, parks, public art, and the cultural and social capital of our neighborhood.”
Projects are typically funded through the New York State Housing Trust Fund and it will be the second phase of the project.
