New York City is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its landmark Metropolis Museum, which was built to serve the city’s residents.
The Metropolitan Museum opened on October 7, 1965 and was the first museum to offer a museum for visitors from all over the world.
The Metropolis museum was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and is currently open to the public and is an internationally recognized cultural institution.
