Tor Project, a project created by former ESPN commentator and NBA analyst John Schuhmann, has ranked the teams that have the least to gain from the return of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant.
According to Tor Project , the Heat and Rockets were the only two teams not ranked in the top five teams, while the Warriors and Spurs finished in the middle of the pack.
The Rockets are not the only team with a glaring weakness, as the Lakers and Warriors also finished in last place.
The list below includes the top 10 teams by wins and losses and the top 100 overall teams by average win total and win percentage.
The numbers are based on a combination of statistical information from ESPN and NBA.com, and a metric from Synergy Sports.
With a total of 11,928 points scored, 2,066 rebounds, 814 assists, 616 steals and 2,854 blocks, the Rockets are easily the most talented team in the league.
However, the Lakers are only second in points scored per game and are tied for fifth in assists per game.
It will be interesting to see how the Rockets bounce back in the playoffs, especially after losing Kevin Durant to free agency.
For the most part, the rest of the league has the Rockets’ struggles to blame, as their offensive rebounding numbers are also very good.
Houston, however, is still one of the more underrated teams in the East, and should make the playoffs in the Western Conference.
